The role supports the CMS customer by reviewing and evaluating the VMS system to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards. Candidates will develop software/systems testing procedures and conduct testing..*In this role, a typical day will include:* + Responsibilities include all aspects of system testing including creating and executing the test plan, test cases, regression testing, and test data/file creation. + Review functional and technical requirements to expose inconsistencies, lack of clarity, lack of details, and identify any contradictions. + Develops and implements software/systems testing standards and procedures and conducts tests. + Documents and analyzes test results, and makes recommendations to improve overall quality. + May be responsible for testing purchased third-party software and/or services to ensure that company standards and end-user requirements are met. + Participate in/conduct documentation, design, and testing reviews as appropriate. + Log and track all problems as well as ideas for new functionality (ie new requirements) identified during system and user testing of a release in a timely manner using the designated problem-tracking tool. + Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. + Participates in special projects as required..*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* + BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience. + 8+ years of related IT, software development, testing, or quality assurance experience. + Strong grasp of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Word. + Batch Job testing experience required. + Ability to write technical, logical test cases.*DESIRED SKILLS:* + Medicare and CMS-related knowledge a plus..*ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:* + Excellent written and verbal communication. + Ability to clearly and thoroughly document system errors + Competent to work independently on Quality Assurance testing activities.
