Job Purpose:

The ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet® Senior Scientific Communications Veterinarian will provide scientific expertise in collaboration with Royal Canin Marketing in support of a functional category. This position focuses on engaging and effective scientific communication in support of veterinary universities, specialists, and general practitioners, and serves as our in-house category expert. The Royal Canin team of Scientific Communication Veterinarians fulfills a crucial role in the development of best-in-class scientific information regarding pet nutrition and related technology to the veterinary community.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with an active license in one or more states
  • 3+ years’ experience as a veterinary practitioner, internship, co-ops AND/OR residency
  • Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Teams/OneNote, and Zoom)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Willing to travel up to 25% domestically (minimal international travel)
  • Reasonable/comfortable driving distance to an airport
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of effective use of social media platforms as a communication tool
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Royal Canin Marketing by providing scientific support to launch new products and promote growth of existing products in your assigned functional category (Gastrointestinal, Dermatology, Urinary, Vital Support, Health Management, or Weight Management)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in creation or repurposing of existing PowerPoint presentations, point-of-sale documents and similar in support of category with consumer centric, goal driven and engaging use of best-choice media
  • Update scientific information in existing PowerPoint presentation materials, point-of-sale, and related material as needed
  • Collect and manage scientific information related to your category including research papers, competitor information, market data, visual resources (photos, graphics, presentations, etc.), global Royal Canin resources, and similar
  • Work with Royal Canin Regulatory to have compliant materials produced in efficient and timely manner
  • Educate Royal Canin associates as needed, serving as the in-house category expert
  • Build on-going expertise through targeted KOL and veterinary group relationships, continuing education and related self-study
  • Collaborate with in-field and national account Royal Canin associates to have up-to-date information of market and business needs leading to strong category business acumen
  • Provide nutritional case consultations when needed
  • Collaborate with Royal Canin research and global entities
  • Work with MVH and National Accounts on projects as needed
  • Provide ongoing best-in-class virtual CE training to veterinarians
  • Support development and management of Royal Canin University
  • Ability to travel (<25%) and otherwise be able to work from home effectively
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
