About the role:

As an Arbitration and Mediation Specialist at Oscar, you will be responsible for maintaining various State Payment Dispute (Arbitration & Mediation) processes on behalf of Oscar. You will provide insight into market trends, and facilitate payments to mediators when necessary. You will work with internal Oscar teams ranging from Claims, SCA, P&L, and Accounts Payable with leadership exposure. You may also work with regulatory authorities, and Oscar’s vendors.

You will report into the CGA Appeals Team Lead. This is a remote role, you are able to work remotely in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Mediation and Arbitration processes for several states.
  • Monitor multiple email inboxes, ensuring timely responses and ticket creation.
  • Work with internal partners to identify, scope, and highlight potential risks both financial and regulatory in nature.
  • Develop insights into market trends and opportunities for workflow improvements 
  • Facilitate invoice payments and vendor setup with Accounts Payable team
  • Form and maintain working relationship with all partners to meet business objectives
  • Support your team lead or manager by guiding decisions and implementation on an ongoing basis
  • Understand relevant policies, and identify and measure the impact of any changes on our internal operations
  • Requirements:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in healthcare, analytics, or operations
  • 1+ years of experience in a fast paced environment, as an individual contributor.
  • Experience using Google Suite applications.
  • Bonus points:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to healthcare provider payment disputes (arbitration & mediation)
