We are looking for aDirector of Sales Operations who will join our sales team remotely!This position is responsible for driving efficiency across the sales organization. This includes, but is not limited to:Leading a team that is responsible for Sales Analytics, Sales Process and Sales Execution across the US Consumer BusinessCoordinating all activities and communications across the Business Development Teams, Field Sales Team, and Sales Strategy & Operations TeamBuilding out the capabilities of the Business Analytics TeamSetting the direction for both our internal and external facing product knowledge training platforms (Scotts Training Institute)Overseeing the activities of the Independent and National Account Sales Support TeamWorking with cross functional partners such as human resources, finance, supply chain, marketing, IT, and third party vendors to drive key strategies and process improvementsMain work will be focused on current year execution and processWhat you'll do in this role:Work alongside the Sales Strategy team to monitor, measure, and exceed CY sales objectivesLead the effort in creating new sales/POS/profitability tools down to designated market level, to help sales force drive more efficient, more profitable sales for SMG and our retailersImprove current processes/procedures and create new vehicles to streamline operations and increase efficiencyLeverage resources from within the organization such as Finance, R, Insights, and Marketing to validate assumptions and initiatives to improve Sales Team efficienciesWork alongside Field Sales Leadership to maximize the impact of local, strategic selling activityPartner with IT to evolve the current CRM platform and enhance Real-Time AnalyticsLead the vision and implementation of the annual North America Sales ConferenceComplexityMost difficult/complex task or project performed by the jobholder:Creating tools to help sales team become more efficient and drive profitable growthExecuting strategic initiatives to improve asset utilization and maximize revenue and profitRequires high level of initiative, interpersonal communication skills, and technical skills commensurate with a degree and 5+ years in salesInteraction and collaboration across Business Development Teams, Brand Groups, and Field Sales TeamsData analysis to identify exceptions and report findingIdentify inefficient or ineffective sales processes or proceduresWhat you'll need to be successful:B.S. in Business, Finance, or related degreeMasters degree preferred5-7 years of experience in Sales, Sales Management, including planning and executionStrong proven analytical and systems capabilities previously demonstrateHistory of team-oriented problem solving in sales environmentProven success leading a teamThe minimum technical knowledge required is that obtained from the successful completion of a degree in Business or related fieldIntimate knowledge of sales processes as well as our customer requirementsAbility to use the following programs: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Project, SAP, TableauHistory of excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated interpersonal skills Team playerWhat we do for you (just to list a few cool ones):Offer extremely competitive benefits including: Health, Dental and Vision coverage.Onsite wellness center which includes: 24,000 sq. ft. fitness center, Walgreens pharmacy and Doctor's office or a Fitness Club Reimbursement for remote workers ($350).Nutrition reimbursement program (up to $200 per associate and per spouse)First day of hire, 401K match (up to 7.5%) and discounted stock purchasing program (15% discount).Our commitment to diversity and inclusion includes employee resource groups: Scotts Women's Network, Scotts Black Employee Network, Scotts Veterans Network and GroPride Network,Scotts Associates for a Greener Earth (SAGE) and Scotts Young Professionals.13 SMG paid holiday days and generous vacation policy.Not interested in this role?
