Senior Underwriter

American National is hiring a Full-Time Senior Underwriter, who finds job satisfaction when working in a collaborative team-environment and enjoys stimulating work that is crucial to the success of the organization. This position works closely with agents and field management, underwriting management and other departments to ensure that every effort is made to produce a profitable book of business.

Responsabilities  

• Analyzes books of business for misclassification and other forms of premium leakage.

• Works to achieve loss ratio goals, policyholder service goals, expense ratio goals, and management service goals.

• Reviews policyholders and agency systems (PAS) to identify positive and negative trends in agent business practices for appropriate action.

• Attends agency and regional meetings and makes presentations as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.

• Successful completion of the Associate in Personal Insurance (API) designation, Associate in

Insurance Services (AIS) designation, or at least four Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) courses.

• At least two years of experience as an underwriter II or comparable experience.

Salary for this position can range from $54,147 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $67,684 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.
