Job DescriptionCDM Smith is seeking a Lead Payroll Specialist (Supervisor) to join our Corporate Payroll group in Boston, MA. The Lead Payroll Specialist oversees the processing of the firm's payroll accurately and on time. Activities may include: accounting, payment preparation and distribution, benefits, taxes, payroll deductions, overtime calculation, shift payments, bonuses, payroll record maintenance, government compliance, and reporting. Projects: Leads, recommends and participates in department projects to continually review and improve current processes. Reconciliation: Performs highly complex payroll record error reconciliations, additions, and changes to the payroll system. Responds to inquiries that are of moderate to high complexity from managers and employees. Mentors, develops, and manages junior staff and ensures accuracy of work performed. This individual will also champion and promote continuous departmental improvement.Systems: Strong system acumen and experience with Payroll and Large ERP and HCM Systems. Recommends updates and enhancements to the design of the timekeeping and payroll system. Performs monthly patch testing of payroll system updates (both ADP WFN and Oracle Timekeeping), enhancements, bug fixes. In addition, some accounting, possibly on the GL side, would also be helpful. Performs other duties as required.Minimum Qualifications• Associate's degree. • 5 years of related experience. • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
