In this work-from-home role, you'll review routine customer claims to determine whether a loss is covered. In this detail-oriented and customer-centric role, you'll become a specialist on the specifics of coverage and benefits policies to empower effective decision making.PLEASE APPLY VIA: addition to making coverage and benefits decisions, here's what you can expect: Key ResponsibilitiesA DAY IN THE LIFE • Review claims, identify the incident, determine coverage in accordance with the contract, and conclude what, if any, benefit applies and the amount to be reimbursed.• Be responsible for paying or rejecting the claim in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insuring agreement.• Deliver a high standard of service and empathy when following up with customers by letter, email, or telephone once the claim has been resolved.• Efficiently answer incoming telephone or email inquiries from customers about the status of their claim, striving for excellence at every touchpoint.• Document the claim determination and relevant notes into PeopleSoft, in accordance with company guidelines.• Collaborate with other departments as needed to verify or obtain missing information.• Accurately research discrepancies and be responsible for escalating questionable claims to your manager.• Send claim forms to new customers.• Perform other duties as assigned.Key Requirements/ SkillsWHAT YOU'LL NEED • High school diploma or equivalent diploma.• 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-related function. • High speed internet.• Place in home free of noise and interruptions.Preferred qualifications• Associates degree or equivalent professional experience• Two to five years of relevant experience in a claims function • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing• Solid analytical, computer, grammar and multi-tasking skills• Effective attention to detail, time management and decision-making skillsAdditional InformationThis position is remote (work-from-home)Monday - Friday schedule About AllianzAllianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
