Positions in this function are responsible for end-to-end business process activities - creating, controlling and improving business processes. Leads process design and project implementation teams in process improvement activities. Diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools. This position is also responsible for quality reporting, analysis and audits and for developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using applicable tools. May assist in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of Total Quality Management (TQM) programs. May direct design, facilitation, training and evaluation of TQM incentive programs and may oversee quality improvement projects and teams.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00:pm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality reporting and analysis using large sums of QC (Quality Control) audit data
  • Perform moderately complex statistical analysis (such as correlation, t - test, regression, etc.)
  • Analyze business process information (e.g. metrics, analytics, quality control data) to identify key issues, trends, and potential root causes that point to improvement opportunities
  • Present analysis to decision makers at various levels, (executives to frontline managers) within the operational business supported
  • Work collaboratively with business partners as a trusted metric partner to drive fact - based solution for gaps identified through the QC auditing, reporting and analysis process
  • Partner with operational leaders to prioritize and implement solutions
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Quality Managers and Supervisor regarding QC reporting and analysis
  • Provide input and guidance to Quality Managers and Supervisors on Quality Council presentation and analysis
  • Perform ad - hoc reporting and analysis
  • Solves moderately complex problems independently
  • Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Prioritize requests and balance daily workload

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics or related field OR High School Diploma / GED (or higher) with 5+ years of experience as a Data Analysis, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer.
  • 3+ years of relevant analysis and interpreting data experience
  • 3+ years in data modeling/management/architecture and reporting
  • 2+ years of programming experience (e.g. Python or R)
  • 2+ years of programming experience in Oracle SQL and MySQL
  • Data visualization experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word formatting, styles and tables
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions, pivot tables, data filters, control charts, pareto charts, formulas, vLookup and SSA Analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint tables, charts and graphs
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
