Nesco Resource is partnering with a global manufacturer in the Capital Region of New York in their search for a Java Software Engineer. As the Java Software Engineer, you will play an important role in the development of analytical instruments. This position is a long-term contract. Nesco Resource will not support C2C relationships and will not provide sponsorship.
On a typical day you might:
- Own, design, document, develop, and debug standalone software features in their entirety from kickoff to final testing of deliverables.
- Make routine status updates to the team and project manager, detailing the current state of work and hurdles in the path to completion.
- Contribute and defend ideas toward product, process, and testability improvements.
- Actively participate in code reviews and team meetings.
- $65-80/Hour
- Hybrid remote schedule; reports in person one day a week and as needed

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Java9 or later (familiarity with Java 14 a plus)
- Experience with configuring local and network printers on recent Debian-derived OS
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; good code organizational skills
- Comfort with mathematical and abstract thinking and data representations
