What you will do

 

The Sales Analytics Analyst is part of our Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. We are looking for a person to support Commercial Sales in our Building Solutions, North America (BSNA) business with data analytics. This person will create solutions, drive insights and be a part of our business transformation. This position is remote, within the U.S.

 

The role is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of Business Analytics within Johnson Controls Commercial business.  Under the direction of the Commercial Analytics Manager, this role is responsible for analytics and advanced data initiatives which include identifying business needs and producing solutions. This individual will act as an ambassador for the Commercial Analytics team, promoting management adoption of standard data management and analytical capabilities through the delivery of reliable data and information.

 

As a member of the Commercial team, this role requires a team member who leads by example, is confident, perseverant, inspirational, disciplined and dependable. Ensures timely and accurate administration of specified operations for our BSNA Sales – i.e. revenue recognition, financial projections, and scenario analysis. Analyzes customer data and sales offering mix trends for strategy development.  The ability to deliver tactical projects while anticipating issues and thinking strategically is a must have.

 

How you will do it 

 

Participates in visualization, testing and implementation of defined solutions.

Responsibility for communicating and executing KPI delivery with leadership teams.

Participates in key requirement review meetings with other business leaders.

Understand the current and future state of business requirements and tool capabilities.

Understand the current and future state of modern Data Warehousing tools (visualizations / reporting).

Owns design, development, and support for a specific analytics function on which may be delivered several solutions (dashboards, reports, etc.).

Works with Business Leads to obtain user acceptance on the overall solution.

Works with IT application SMEs to define local source system and data transformation.

Assists in the design and delivery of high-performance, low-maintenance and user-friendly customer interface for the business intelligence metrics.

Identifies and coordinates Business SME participation in program as needed per project requirements.

Participates in data gap assessments aligned to KPI definitions.

Manages metric definition and identifies changes to people, process and technology for KPI implementation.

Definition of any required business process or data requirements. Identification of change management associated with the requirements and leads the global KPI implementation.

Actively participates in KPI implementation delivery prioritizations based on business requirements and data availability.

Manage project tasks effectively and provide active support to project managers in estimation, risk management and issue resolution.

Integrate quality practices in all aspects of delivery; audit work products to ensure quality and sustainability. 

What we look for

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business.

Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in a data focused role. 

Experience with supporting Sales. Creating and reviewing sales data, assessing and making recommendations.

Data and BI technology experience; Relational Databases, Power BI, Azure, SQL, Data Warehousing.

Advanced data analysis experience: Python, SAS or other statistical analysis tools.

Knowledge of statistics and statistical modeling approaches for analytics.

Understanding and experience with Machine Learning tools and approaches.

Ability to gather and document business, analytical and reporting requirements.

Skilled at data profiling and data analysis.

Ability to direct unit testing during development cycles and to define test cases.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.

Knowledge of most of the key concepts related to master data management, data standards and data organizations preferably.

Confidence to interface with all levels of management.

Ability to travel minimally, within the US. Example: if needed for a project
