Certified Tumor Registrar - REMOTE - per diem/full time/flexible hours
Responsibilities include:
• Accurate and timely cancer data collection based on requirements of the American College of Surgeons and the NYS Cancer Registry System. Key elements in data collection include case finding, abstracting and follow-up.
• Data entry into and maintenance of the computerized Tumor Registry System.
• Analyzing information and preparing reports based on registry data and comparison databases that are used to evaluate St. Peter’s Hospital Cancer Program and to identify successes and opportunities for improvement.
• Representing the Cancer Data Management unit at Tumor Conferences and at hospital meetings.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of patient and tumor registry information.
• Coordinates Tumor Conference for Thoracic, Breast, Gastroenterology and Urology. Communicates with Departments of Surgery, Radiology, Pathology and Radiation/Medical Oncology on a weekly basis to ensure case presentations.
• Facilitates internal and external gathering of pathology and imaging reports for presentation at conference.
• Reports all new cancer cases to NYS Department of health bi-weekly.
• Assists in the collection and submission of patient care evaluations to the American College of Surgeons.
