POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Cloud Hosting Engineer is a key contributor to the build and run operations of hosting services for Matthews. This role will define and monitor cloud hosting policies, architecture, and standards. This position is responsible for consulting, reviewing and approving cloud hosting solutions, as well as executing the implementation of projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement for cloud hosting services. The Senior Cloud Hosting Engineer will also drive the provision and maintenance of cloud services and drive analysis, and the resolution of major cloud hardware and software incidents/problems in a timely and accurate fashion. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, document, and maintain cloud hosting architecture and standards.
  • Develop a global cloud hosting integration/separation strategy for acquisitions and divestments.
  • Provide cloud hosting architecture and design input into business cases during project planning and initiation.
  • Provide technical review and approval for every cloud hosting change proposed (internally and from third-party vendors) in line with the relevant strategy.
  • Advise on the selection of major components of cloud hosting.
  • Develop and manage the testing and implementation of the recovery plan for cloud hosting, including initial emergency response and recovery procedures.
  • Manage and maintain hosting environments (AWS, Azure, Rackspace, etc.).
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hosting environments leveraging internal and external resources
  • Monitor and analyze hosting performance and assure that agreed-upon service levels are met for network response time, and availability.
  • Respond to communications issues with cloud hosting providers.
  • Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to provision cloud hosting products and services.
  • Lead cloud hosting troubleshooting efforts for major incident response to P1 and P2 incidents.
  • Ensure the quality of root cause analysis efforts for hosting related issues.


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in cloud hosting environments performing administration, design, planning and implementation preferred.
  • Industry Standard certifications preferred.
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Experienced with Standard IT delivery and process models such as ITIL, COBIT, etc.
  • Experience with AWS deployments.
  • Knowledge and experience with messaging systems, network, servers, telecom, storage, and backup systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with network security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel as necessary.
