Description

DWR transportation outbound network is made up of white glove final mile carriers, parcel direct to consumers and domestic truckload/LTL carriers. This position will manage and develop the transportation and logistics of import/export compliance and transportation, final mile delivery, and domestic freight management to deliver a cost-effective network and align with and promote the achievement of the corporation’s business strategy. Achieves results through successful leadership and team development, as well as effective planning, organization, implementation, and execution.

Inside the Job

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Lead the expansion of best in class white glove/final mile carrier network throughout NA with a focus on integrated partners to serve the customer.
  • Lead and manage import/export team for ocean, air and LCL for NA and global network.
  • Manage existing agents and source new partners for business efficiency.
  • Working experience in custom brokerage for US Custom import/export regulations and compliance.
  • Establish import/export/logistic operations systems, SOP’s, Polices and Procedures, etc.
  • Develop and lead the Outbound Transportation, Delivery Experience and Delivery Operations Support teams.
  • Ensure a delivery network is in place across all dimensions (people, process, technology) to scale $1B and beyond.
  • Ensure SOP’s are maintained and followed, revising where appropriate based on opportunities to improve processes.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts for all modes of transportation.
  • Establish clear standards and metrics, measure and hold 3rd party partners accountable.
  • Own all outbound transportation and final mile delivery experience. Ensure a robust transportation planning, carrier mgt. and last mile delivery capability is in place that is SAFE, RELIABLE and DELIGHTS the customer measured by overall company NPS and customer loyalty data and operational KPI’s.
  • Performs regular on-site inspection of delivery hubs.
  • Tracks performance across all 3rd party delivery partners and hubs, identifying areas of opportunity to improve performance, processes, and holding partners to standards across defined KPI’s.
  • P&L ownership for inbound/outbound freight, driving efficiency and productivity while preserving our client experience.
  • Develop and implement freight forecasting model in conjunction with Finance.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting monthly/quarterly and yearly impacts based on industry and market indicators.
  • Participates in Operations and Distribution strategy planning activities brining current knowledge and future vision of company processes and need.
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders across business functions to guide continued innovation in how we serve our clients.
  • Promote growth and learning opportunities, managing both remote and local teams.
  • Promote, implement and support a team environment.
  • Research, vet, and implement delivery models to support the same high level of excellence across all markets (major and minor markets).
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and manage the global network for logistics.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

  • 7+ years in logistics/transportation management.
  • 5+ years managing a team.
  • The ability to work closely and collaborate across functions.
  • Experience building and managing engaged teams.
  • Enjoy working cross functionally to enlist active participation in projects.
  • Plan and work, set goals, determine essential tasks and eliminate roadblocks.
  • Resourceful and creative in finding solutions to business challenges.
  • Comfortable thinking outside of the box, flexible and adaptive.
  • Strong analytical thinking: and digest complex data sets and create KPIs.
  • Comfortable using data to make decisions, track performance and ROI.
  • Computer proficient and comfortable with Word, Excel, and willing to learn our systems.
  • Experience building/managing a home delivery network.
  • Regular travel required.
