The Senior Director, Provider Clinical Product Management will lead the strategic direction, development roadmap, and continuous improvement of the OptumInsight clinical product suite for the provider market. You will be responsible for building new ways of solving health care delivery problems, creating value for our clients and driving Optum business growth through the successful launch of new product development. You will apply strategic product thinking and product management discipline to help others think differently and unlock business value.

The successful candidate must be passionate about driving improvements in health care delivery, effective at working in a fast-paced, high energy environment and confident in their interactions with senior executives, providers, and business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and is accountable for the strategy, development roadmap and continuous advancement of OptumInsight clinical products for the provider market
  • Provides oversight and direction for provider clinical product team
  • Builds a collaborative culture of partnership across Optum businesses and stakeholders to drive successful execution of the product roadmap and create alignment
  • Partners with other business leaders and key stakeholders to develop and execute a strategic clinical product development plan that addresses provider market business needs (current and emerging), provides measurable client value and supports Optum growth
  • Acts as a leader in governance and relevant committees to advance the clinical product agenda
  • Establishes and maintains roadmaps in partnership with other leaders to integrate product capabilities in ways that drive meaningful value for our provider clients
  • Partners with growth, marketing and go-to-market teams to establish an impactful selling strategy and market story that ignites and deepens client relationships
  • Ensure that products and capabilities meet established short and long-range business goals
  • Supports service deployment and closely monitors performance, working with finance and operations to ensure financial viability, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Supports issues resolution and productive problem solving when concerns arise around product design and business processes
  • Leads efforts to continuously innovate the solution design and delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of health care industry experience, including experiences with a health system or provider organization
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 5+ years of recent experience supporting health care delivery, care coordination and / or population health solutions
  • 5+ years of recent experience driving major initiatives across complex, matrix organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in related field (e.g. MBA, MHA, or equivalent)
  • Proven application of change management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Optum service delivery model and operations
  • History of driving major initiatives across complex, matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated self-starter and team leader with strong planning organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of building and influencing relationships with external and internal executives and stakeholders,
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed interpersonal skills
