The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. **Job Summary**

The Shopper Marketing Manager will be consulting with retailers to understand their key KPIs and strategies for their Pet Supplies category and adapt our national brand strategies into shopper programs. They will deliver strategies that maximize profitability and ROI for Spectrum and our key customers in their designated retail channel.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

* **Channel/Retailer Program Management**

+ Develop trade strategies and programs across assigned channels and product segments. Align recommendations to brand architecture, profitability and business goals.

- Synthesize data from multiple sources (Nielsen, One Click, Panel, Consumer Research).

- Create strategic plans. Analyze shopper needs, competitive trends and gap analysis for product assortment.

- Create and present selling stories for internal sales team, external buyers, category managers and brokers.

+ Tie in-store promotions and programs to omni-channel efforts and digital shopper marketing.

+ Set distribution goals for innovation items, perform category fair-share analysis, track progress.

* **Promotions**

+ Own development and execution of all channel/account specific promotions.

- Displays / Point of Purchase Collateral

- Account specific advertising and shopper engagement

- Shopper Coupons / Store specific promotions

+ Leverage promotional synergies across customers within the channels where appropriate.

* **Retailer and channel advocate within Spectrum HQ -** Act an expert on the account, channel and tailor initiatives to ensure retailer acceptance. Minimize sales impact of certain corporate strategies like SKU rationalization and manufacturing location changes.

* **Internal Relationships**

+ Establish and leverage relationships with Brand and Sales through Joint Business Planning.

+ Work closely with Category Management and Insights to Provide insights and recommendations for product/shopper strategies.

+ Apply retail and merchandising knowledge to new product development for retail acceptance.

+ Trade Promo Management: Work with Revenue and Profit Management to foster better trade funding activities. Analyze promotions to compare against expected performance.

**Education and Experience Profile**

* Bachelors degree in business management, data analysis, marketing, mathematics, or related area.

* Minimum 5 years of marketing or sales related experience. Consumer Packaged Goods environment preferred.

* Minimum of three years of experience in an analytical role (category management, sales analysis, marketing support)

**Required Skills**

* Has a consultant approach applies industry knowledge, thinks creatively and demonstrates shopper centric thinking to apply synergies with a retailers goals of category growth.

* Excellent organizational skills.

* Strong customer and action orientation with a drive for results.

* Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.

* Must have a very strong skill set in the use of Microsoft Office with proven knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.

* Strong knowledge of syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen)

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.

* Ability to work independently and be a self-starter within a team setting.

* Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage results with others.

* Ability to handle a variety of tasks and situations in a calm and effective manner.

* Attention to detail and technical learning capacity.

**Work Environment**

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
