The virtual care Product Engagement Specialist is accountable for executing on market engagement strategies and commercial medical product launch activities. This individual will manage relationships within the UHC health plans and drive our go-to-market strategy to ensure the successful launch and support of the product in local markets.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of product to provide sales and market support in educating and activating sales and account management teams, brokers, and clients regarding the virtual care product and experience
  • Support broker engagement opportunities, client meetings, and onsite opportunities to drive membership growth and enrollment
  • Coordinate resolution of virtual care service and network issues across UHC partners and Optum Virtual Care
  • Proactively manage communication between local markets (sales and account managers, brokers, clients) and product, operational, and Optum Virtual Care partners to ensure ideal member experience and product performance
  • Gain an understanding of important issues in industry, current competitors and key market trends that could impact UHC and product positioning and growth
  • Gather market feedback from the virutal care markets to inform product design and enhancements; and gain understanding of effective communication strategies to educate our brokers, sales teams, and members
  • Function as the virtual care product expert to support expansion activities and market implementation strategies in post-MVP Level Funded markets
  • Support virtual care product expansion into the National Account ASO and Fully Insured market segments
  • Manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders; keep stakeholders current on activities, challenges, and opportunities; provide realistic timelines and strategies
  • Develop product expertise to support product management and product development processes (U-Accelerate, product grids, etc.)
  • Demonstrates understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and related decisions and actions
  • Documents and communicates market feedback, characteristics and needs to applicable stakeholders; Develops use-case scenarios to illustrate user/market requirements
  • Understands and navigates organization matrix to accomplish work - both formal channels and informal networks; demonstrates understanding of formal and informal work roles, team goals, interests and relationships among individuals, work teams and functions
  • Facilitates communication and decision-making necessary to implement initiatives; Plans, coordinates and manages internal resources to accomplish assignments within the given deadlines
  • Presents in a logical, clear manner and leverages data to clearly articulate problem/story

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience and knowledge of health insurance industry
  • 2+ years of experience/demonstrated success in developing work plans to effectively manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment
  • 1+ years of experience working in a role with a high degree of autonomy and minimal guidance
  • 1+ years of experience in creating professional presentations and developing messaging around business strategies
  • Solid PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience working with customers, sales, and account management teams
  • Experience with medical product offerings and health plan designs
  • Solid decision-making, leadership and analytic/problem solving skills
  • Ability to set priorities and communicate effectively within a matrixed organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
