Job Summary:

Are you looking to make a difference in your community? We are seeking a compassionate and strong Substance Abuse Counselor at our Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) facility. The ideal candidate would be able to travel between our clinic in Harriman, Jacksboro and our upcoming clinic in Knoxville, TN. The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the direct provision of substance abuse counseling services including gathering data, documenting problems, and establishing a course of treatment for patients receiving treatment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that are assigned:
  • Will pay a travel stipend to travel to clinics
  • Counselors are required to perform all care coordination
  • Work with patients to develop recovery skills through treatment planning, care coordination, referrals, and group or individual counseling sessions.
  • Contributing to the ongoing assessment and treatment planning process through participation in daily reports, case reviews, and treatment team meetings.
  • Providing crisis interventions as needed.
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Providing supportive counseling in conjunction with Medical and Nursing Services.
  • Ensure patients submit to monthly random drug screening

Position Requirements:

The most qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Masters degree in Counseling or a related field.
  • Must be licensed in the state of TN as one of the following:
    • psychologist, social worker, professional counselor, associate counselor, substance abuse counselor or marital and family therapist.
  • Experience treating opioid-addicted patients is not a requirement but is preferred.
  • No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.
