The opportunity:

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead drivers and manage all aspects of the driver experience. Accountability includes coaching and mentoring drivers to achieve specific customer service expectations and business goals. These goals include maintaining an excellent safety record, retaining safe drivers, and meeting customer service on-time requirements while also achieving optimal equipment utilization and performance.

How you will impact Victory Packaging :

  • Provides on-going performance management, coaching and leadership to drivers to ensure superior customer service and key factor achievement to include but not limited to payroll, driver productivity, asset/equipment utilization, safety & regulatory compliance & auditing.

  • Establishes solid business relationships and maintains open, accurate and timely two-way communications with drivers.

  • Works closely with Regional Logistics Managers and the local branches in the region to optimize Fleet performance.

  • Conducts quarterly driver meetings at all branches in conjunction with local branch management.

  • Makes safety-conscious decisions and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.

  • Utilizes innovation and continuous improvement to streamline processes and practices.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with departments such as customer service, planning, driver pay, regulatory, and safety to identify solutions to daily business challenges.

  • Provide training to team members on department policies, procedures and processes.

  • Monitor progress of area’s key performance indicators (KPIs) actual vs. target on a monthly basis.

  • · Submit monthly progress reports detailing branshes visited, items discussed and progress toward cost or service projects or goals.

    Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Transportation or Logistics.

  • 8+ years of broad transportation management experience specifically driver operations.

  • Other Requirements

    · Role requires 50% travel to branches in region.

    · Person must be able to function independently and proactively.

    · Role can be located at a facility or remote.
