UnitedHealthcare Hearing is seeking a seasoned sales and account management business leader to manage and grow key client account relationships. You must be comfortable working with client executives and senior leaders in the healthcare industry serving as a client and internal facing quarterback on our customers' behalf, realizing and maintaining customer revenue, and becoming a trusted advisor and strategic partner within client organizations. Your ability to meet goals for your client accounts is matched only by an appetite to exceed them.

The role is responsible for proactively addressing UnitedHealthcare Hearing's client ancillary product needs, expanding existing client/member utilization, supporting client development, architecting product solutions, and partnering closely with the sales team to execute sales strategies that will drive profitable revenue expansion. It also encompasses the project management of select cross-departmental functions to ensure proper communication, pricing, product, collaboration, and execution of client commitments from sales through post-implementation.

The right candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, be highly goal-oriented, and adaptable with a sense of urgency for results. The right candidate will also have comfort with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial start-up type mentality environment with the ability to pick up and manage complex problems and processes with ease.

Primary Responsibilities:

Drive Sales & Utilization

  • Develop sales plans and execute strategies to produce sales resulting in profitable utilization for each segment, region, and health plan/client
  • Become the business Subject Matter Expert in the clients supported. Develop a deep understanding of the plan portfolio (Medicare Advantage, Dual Special Needs, MedSupp, Part D, Medicaid, Commercial) and applicable rules and regulations that apply to specific ancillary benefit/product sales
  • Partner with the sales team to grow business, including preparation and presentation in client business review meetings and supporting client implementation and renewals

Develop Relationships

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to drive the development and execution of strategic client plans that addresses client's business needs (current and emerging), supports growth, provides measurable value, and increases client engagement and loyalty that ultimately drives sales and utilization
  • Manage client contract renewal activities with the primary goals of retaining client, obtaining multiple year agreements, and maintaining or improving profitability
  • Maintain a complete understanding of client contract terms including the reporting of performance guarantees and managing service improvements
  • Prioritize and conduct regular client meetings (virtual and onsite) as appropriate, to proactively review performance, client benefits and evolving product needs
  • Lead business presence and client influencing efforts at industry and client tradeshow events that sustain existing business and grow new client/payer base

Cross-Functional Business Integration

  • Assist in plan design strategy and create benefit summaries or deviation documents outlining proposed benefits while positioning any deviations in a favorable manner
  • Collaborate with product teams, professional support functions, and adjacent business segments in the development, sale, and enhancement of current products, services, and client offerings
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Proposal partners to lead the completion of financial, security, and business questionnaires and exhibits for inclusion into final client product/proposal
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
  • Serve as point of contact with external brokers, procurement contacts at sales' request

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years relevant work experience
  • 5+ years' experience in Sales, Account Management, Business Development, Operations, or Product role in a large complex organization(s)
  • Business analysis experience with demonstrated ability to gather undefined or unclear requirements utilizing strong probing skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Demonstrated written communication, verbal, and personal presentation and storytelling skills with the ability to persuasively present and represent company's business capabilities
  • Travel as needed to support business needs (estimated at 20%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or advanced degree (e.g. MBA, MHA)
  • Salesforce user and reporting experience
  • Healthcare industry experience, including ancillary benefits such as Dental, Vision, or Hearing
