Are you ready.....
This is cool and I'm not saying it's cool like, yeah it's alright, a bit different, good stack, good team. Like it's COOL, never ever recruited for a company like it, you wouldn't call them a tech company, you wouldn't think that the two founders who started the business in their twenty's only a few years ago to turnover £30million last year and expecting a turnover of £90million this year and organically grown a following to 2.4million around the world! It's more than cool it's edgy AF, mega, exciting, epic!
They've hired some expectational leaders to continue world distribution - yeah I said it and I mean it, they are the LEADING company make art radically more accessible.
They outsourced a lot of the build but are now with the help of the Tech Leaders - Head of product and Head of Engineering rebuilding the platform, also adding a load of new things including a community platform to house their 2.4 million followers!
We're supporting 4 hires, inc 1 tech lead and 3 Senior Devs, with a foucs on either back end, front end or if you are happy across the stack then even better. Tech Lead you'll run and own tech and product squad. Seniors you'll be getting your hands dirty building.
As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will help to define, and be involved across, their technology stack and will thoughtfully and incrementally create new features and products that delight customers and help drive the business towards an ambitious vision.
This is a role that will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, while providing high levels of autonomy during an incredibly exciting phase of growth.
They're looking for someone with a strong development background and proven track record in delivering well-crafted software. You will be someone who can lean on past experiences to help solve complex problems, while always being open to new approaches and technologies.
As one of the first engineering hires you will have a pivotal role in moving their technology platform forward. They currently run a hybrid Shopify & WordPress setup but have ambitious plans to move towards a modern web technology stack.
As an early-stage business, your work will include many opportunities to be part of conversations about more than just technology - including design, data science and product strategy - but the core of your role will involve:
- Design and implementation of scalable and performant applications.
- Owning code across stack, with no limits on what you work on - from backend services (with GraphQL) to front-end web apps in React/Redux
- Participating in architectural and software development activities.
- Contributing to the definition of the product roadmap, helping to define requirements and come up with creative solutions to business problems.
- Taking responsibility for supporting your changes through the development lifecycle all the way through to production.
- Take part in reviewing and optimising the team's processes to ensure they're working at their best.
