About The Role:


We are seeking a talented and passionate Consumer Insights Lead to uncover and articulate unmet user needs in our priority markets - US and Japan, to begin with. The ideal candidate will be adept at conducting various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including ethnography, contextual inquiry, interviews, and surveys. This role requires someone with a background in ethnography, psychology, anthropology, human factors engineering, or filmmaking, who possesses a deep understanding of human behavior and the ability to articulate insights to diverse stakeholders. Your keen analytical skills will be put to use in synthesizing and analyzing data, transforming it into impactful insights that captivate and inspire.

PanasonicWELL is able to employ individuals who reside in (or that are willing to relocate to) the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.


What You ll Do:


  • Conduct various research methodologies, including ethnography, contextual inquiry, interviews, and surveys, to gain a comprehensive understanding of user needs.
  • Scope and manage research projects, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Synthesize research findings into compelling narratives and impactful insights that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Utilize keen analytical skills to analyze data and transform it into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Leverage compelling storytelling to influence and align the perspectives of executives in both the US and Japan, and advocate for the ideal blend of humanity and technology as we navigate the evolution of AI and LLMs.
  • Provide thought leadership in CX (Customer Experience) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) planning to drive forward-looking strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop robust journey-thinking as a core skill for VOJ applied to Business Experience and Customer Experience projects alike and designed to ensure we leverage data to best understand consumer experiences and content/service interaction to ensure journeys are optimized.
  • Champion user needs throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring that our offerings are designed to meet the evolving demands of our global customer base.


What You ll Bring:


  • 8 years experience in digital agencies as a consumer insights or user experience researcher with a Bachelor s degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Human Factors Engineering or other relevant field.
  • Track record of building and articulating compelling stories and narratives that lead to impactful user-first business decisions and thereby, enhanced user experience.
  • Proficient in both Japanese (JP) and English (EN), facilitating seamless communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing vendors to efficiently scope and expand research efforts, ensuring timely delivery of results.
  • Experienced in utilizing various research tools, including diary tools like dscout, quantitative tools such as Qualtrics, and interview platforms. Familiarity with emerging AI-backed tools like Remesh is advantageous.
  • Highly adept at storytelling, capable of effectively conveying user needs and insights at all organizational levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership.
