Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for leading and executing the strategy and priorities related to the Internal audit analytics portfolio. In addition, this role will be responsible for partnering directly with the GE Corporate Controllership teams and our external auditor to plan, resource, and execute the deployment of the external auditors’ technical products across GE. The role will coordinate resources across GE system landscape, including but not limited FDL (Finance Data Lake), ERP’s, Hyperion, Shared Subledgers and business specific applications to be used to digitize and transform the internal and external auditor processes working with GE.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead program execution for the Internal audit analytics portfolio, including automation of leading and lagging risk indicators of risk assessment and audit execution process.

  • Act as the overall DT lead for deploying the technology utilized by our external auditor firm.

  • Analyze, design and develop a product roadmap and implementation plan based upon all relevant data points such as internal audit vision and mandate, business needs, appetite for change, technical capabilities etc.

  • Partner with Finance DataLake team to ensure successful adoption and realization of value to internal audit organization as well as the external auditors.

  • Partner with business data lakes, ERPs and strategic enterprise system’s IT/functional teams to build analytics solutions for internal audit organizations as well as the external auditors..

  • Collaborate with other Risk and compliance organizations in GE such as SOX, ERM and BU Risk teams to drive technology discussion in line with the strategy for Internal and external audit organization

  • Build relationships with senior leadership stakeholders – CAE and staff level, Business leadership teams, and Deloitte partners to garner support for smooth execution of programs. Interface with internal auditors, FDL and BU functional and IT team to ensure alignment on expectations.

  • Build governance structure around creation and deployment of new audit analytics solutions to ensure holistic view of the portfolio and progress on the roadmap.

  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with remote technical & functional teams. 

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams to ensure their tasks are completed as required.

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives.

  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations.

  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure retroactive learning sessions are performed and actions followed through.

  • Partner with internal audit co-sourced provider E&Y to upskill the internal audit staff on traditional and advanced analytics expertise by leading in-person trainings and through 1X1 coaching with auditors.

  • Champion Lean initiatives to enable standard program management practices, drive simplification and business process improvements.

  • Evangelize new opportunities possible with technology investment, challenge status quo and drive data, process and digital disruption.

  • Lead research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to drive product evolution

  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or in STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus a minimum of 8 years of experience; OR in lieu of a degree: a HS diploma/GED and 12+ years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training.

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience with Program and/or Project Management, driving cross- functional engagement and benefits.

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience with data & analytics technologies. Analytics and automation experience in audit function is preferred.

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will be given experiential credit commensurate to the development program completed.
