Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA), a leader in the outpatient surgery industry, strategically partners with health plans, medical groups and health systems across the country to develop and optimize surgical facilities. SCA is currently accepting applications for a Senior Analyst position on its fast-paced and innovative Catalyst team. Key areas of focus include supporting health plan engagement and new product innovation, featuring SCA's lower-cost, high-quality facilities and history of surgeon partnership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as co-system administrator on the team's dedicated analytics server, regularly providing insights on database design/performance and resource requirements in a changing environment
  • Represent the team as SME and thought partner whenever Catalyst data is used for reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain innovative tools that serve to collect and report team input on a variety of complex initiatives
  • Load, cleanse, and report on claims data sourced from external vendors
  • Train and provide support to Analytics team on writing TSQL queries on internal data
  • Create custom views of enterprise data sources for reporting in SSRS, Tableau, Excel,
  • Gather detailed reporting requirements from the team and translate them into practice
  • Closely interact with IT department concerning changes in enterprise data sources, modifying existing reports when necessary in a self-directed manner

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of proficiency in SQL Server, (including a firm understanding of T-SQL functions / stored procedures and security settings that utilize Active Directory groups)
  • Experience with loading external flat file data using both Integration Services and the SQL Server Import/Export Wizard
  • Extreme attention to detail through demonstrated consistency in TSQL scripts and report design
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Server, including a firm understanding of T-SQL functions/stored procedures and security settings that utilize Active Directory groups
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build innovative tools that are tailored to end-user needs and serve to collect, store, and report user input in a SQL Server environment
  • Ability to identify patterns in, and discern relationships between, externally provided data tables without support from the table source vendor
  • Ability to absorb & retain communicated requirements, anticipating additional customer needs and proactively developing solutions to meet them
  • Ability to deconstruct existing processes, document key components, and make modifications that maintain relevance in a changing data environment
  • Ability to discern if/when non-standard issues require exceptions from established structure
  • Ability to travel - up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau, inclusive of Initial SQL execution, calculated measures, and using stored procedures as data sources
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including experience with VBA
