Primary Responsibilities: Support and validate provider network contracting and unit cost management Conduct financial and provider network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting Analyze financial impact of provider contracts Benchmark provider rates to published data including Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement Analyze financial impact of corporate initiatives or external regulations Analyze financial impact of healthcare affordability initiatives Performs data analytics in support of unit cost trend identification, management, and mitigation Identifies and implements appropriate analytic approaches/methodologies Extracts and aggregates applicable data for measurement purposes Performs complex data validation and conceptual analyses Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions Communicate results of financial impact and analysis to appropriate stakeholder groups Lead projects to completion by contributing to data analysis and financial reporting You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field 3+ years of analytical experience in actuarial, financial analysis, health care pricing, health care economics or related discipline 3+ years of experience performing financial impact modeling and analysis or data manipulation with evidence of creative, proactive problem solving 3+ years of experience using SAS and/or SQL Advanced level of proficiency working with MS Excel including creating Macros, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, and VLOOKUPs Preferred Qualification: Effective verbal and written communication skills UnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination status.
