OverviewResponsibilities & DutiesPayroll: Develop deep understanding of Workday payroll processes including payroll transactions, payroll accounting and costing, fringe benefit allocations and payroll commitments/obligations. Enter, execute and validate a wide range of payroll transaction types to validate system configuration including but not limited to on- and off-cycle payments, on demand payments, retroactive payments and payment reversals/cancelations. Execute payroll processes to validate system configuration including payroll calculations, payroll accounting generation, fringe benefit allocation processes, payroll accruals, and inbound/outbound payroll integration processes. Develop & execute test scenarios to ensure accuracy of payroll transactions, payroll processes and import/export files Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual test results Payroll Costing: Lead efforts to convert payroll costing information from legacy system (Oracle Labor Distribution) to Workday payroll cost allocations Reconcile and validate accuracy of payroll cost allocation conversion. Enter, execute and validate payroll cost allocation transactions to validate system configuration including mid-year costing schedules, salary over the cap costing, and multi-year commitments. Execute processes to gene*** payroll cost accounting, and payroll commitments and obligations. Develop & execute test scenarios to ensure accuracy of payroll cost distribution across institutional and departmental accounts including grants, gifts and other funding types Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual test results Project Responsiblities: Provide business support for the following functions following the implementation of : Payroll cost allocations (and position restrictions, if we use them) Payroll accounting adjustments Payroll commitments and obligations Fringe benefit allocations (if this function will move to Finance) Maintain internal and end user documentation related to payroll costing functions Provide Tier 2 end user support for the payroll costing function Provide testing support for the above areas for bi-annual upgrades and system configuration changes Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonst***d experience processing payroll for a large and diverse organization Excellent knowledge of payroll best practices Strong desktop computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in Excel Working knowledge of time-keeping systems, such as Kronos or Workday Time Tracking Strong work ethic and team player High degree of professionalism Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Ability to effectively manage multiple efforts and concurrent priorities Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and analytical acumen Exhibits strong sense of accountability for timelines, deliverables and outcomes Demonst***s honesty, integrity and respect for other individuals Minimum Qualifications Required Experience : 5 - 7 years of experience of payroll processing experience in a large and complex payroll & compensation environment, including: Direct experience managing end to end payroll processes Direct experience overseeing payroll accounting functions Direct experience performing payroll regression testing Required Education : Bachelor's degree Required Computer Applications : Hands-on experience processing payroll using a major payroll system such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, or Workday Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Experience with Office and desktop productivity tools such as Office 365, Zoom, and file transfer Preferred QualificationsPreferred Experience: Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to payroll Workday payroll experience Preferred Certifications : Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Preferred Computer Applications : Workday HCM and Workday PayrollRequired Skills : Workday, must have experience with Workday payroll accounting!!
