Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:The Business Intelligence Analysis will help act as a bridge in deciphering the Digital Health requirements and create documentation to scope and build out a solution.Position PurposeThe Business Intelligence Analyst II will work closely with our business partners and development resources to design and develop Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and analytics strategies. The Business Intelligence Analyst II uses basic business knowledge to assist with developing the analytic requirements and recommendations for solving business needs with BI reporting tools including, but not limited to, SAP Business Objects, Tableau and other analytic platforms. The Business Intelligence Analyst II will build a consultative partnership between the business areas and the Analytics and Data Warehouse organization and will act as an experienced consultant to business customers. The BI Analyst II possesses domain specific business knowledge needed to provide moderate to complex ad-hoc reporting and analysis services, and identifies areas for reporting consolidation and self-service opportunities. The BI Analyst II ensures that technical requirements necessary to fulfill data acquisition and reporting requests are identified, documented, and communicated to the appropriate development groups. The BI Analyst II is responsible for resolving support issues that have been escalated by the Business Intelligence Analyst I, by other staff in Data Warehouse and Analytics, or by business customers.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesProvides advanced support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.Monitors issue tracking system (HEAT, Clarity, Quickbase, others), acknowledges tickets, and works towards resolution with customers, vendors, and developers.Provides data analysis and application support to internal customersWorks with vendors to resolve complex issues.Maintains or updates business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.Works with end-users to develop skills in the areas of reporting, querying, and analytics.Provides communication to end-users regarding training opportunities, availability of reporting tools, roll-out of new capabilities, enhancements, etc.Serves as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by first level support analysts.Assists and mentors BI Analyst I.Leads discussions with business owners to define business/functional requirements for development of new or improved capabilities, and with developers to translate business requirements into technical requirements.Documents specifications for business intelligence or information technology reports, dashboards, or other outputs.Creates technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions and participates in peer reviews of reporting solutions developed by other members of the Data Warehouse and Analytics team.Generates moderate to complex standard or custom reports summarizing business, clinical or financial data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.Works with power users to enable ad-hoc reporting with provided tools and analytical environment. Works with end-users to develop skills in the areas of reporting, querying, and analytics.Executes moderate to complex ad-hoc reporting.Understands SQL and writes simple SQL queries.Creates comprehensive test plans and test scripts. Executes and documents testing results for issues, enhancements, and new development.Provides input into user tool development to identify areas for improvement and enhanced self-service.Develops subject area knowledge specific to business functions such as Finance, Revenue, Clinical, Supply Chain, Marketing, HR, etc.Facilitates the creation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between Data Warehouse and Analytics and business customers. Follows all Service Management best practices including Change Management.Actively reinforces the vision and direction of the Data Warehouse and Analytics organization.Initiates opportunities to learn and grow. Handles multiple demands, shifting priorities, crises and rapid change.Cultivates working relationships within the Data Warehouse and Analytics organization and with the business units that are positive, professional and collaborative.Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsNon-ClinicalBachelor's degree in healthcare or information technology and a minimum of three (3) - five (5) years' experience in information technology or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.A minimum of three (3) years' experience or equivalent training/education in ad-hoc reporting and analysis, including:Experience with ad-hoc analysis and reporting tools (SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)Support or creation of reports, scorecards, dashboards using these toolsData warehouse concepts and querying including the ability to understand SQL and write simple SQL queries.Ability to crunch data, taking complex sets of data and managing them via filters, calculations, etc.A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' experience using source system/transactional data from systems such as Cerner, NextGen, HealthQuest, PeopleSoft, Lawson, Epic, etc., as gained through the use or support of the application(s).Excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
