The Operations Specialist will Implement and oversee an efficient, effective and service-first TAN operations platform. This work includes, but is not limited to, movement of people into the TAN distribution channel and daily operations work to support the TAN practices.

Operations role must possess the ability to gather facts, data, and documentation to reach independent conclusions, and must be able to then implement decisions in a timely and professional manner. The Specialist will serve as primary point of contact for complex service-related issues.

Qualified candidate should desire a fast-paced environment and exhibit flexibility and innovation of thinking.

Job Description

This role will assume multiple responsibilities.

  • Serve as field liaison for operational duties including Menu of Services and invoicing of services.
  • Engage in multiple RIA operations disciplines and support efforts across team functions including but not limited to client onboarding, billing, reporting and financial planning.
  • Participate in cross-organizational improvement projects that drive efficiencies and scale for both TAN and Thrivent distribution.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement principles to TAN processes to improve the experience for all practices.
  • Build partnerships to understand & resolve business issues and challenges; to deliver a consistent field advisor and client experience.
  • Consult (act as liaison) with corporate partners to uncover solutions to ad hoc business issues.
  • Overall, we expect this contributor to:

  • Build and maintain a high quality and professional working relationship with team members, internal business units, all field professionals and strategic partners, may serve as primary customer contact as assigned.
  • Partner with managers, other team leaders and strategic partners in the development and implementation of business processes and programs, standard operating procedures, documentation and other support materials required for unit operation; and supports projects and special initiatives which support corporate growth and continuous improvement of operation.
  • Provide quality customer service by providing detailed, accurate and timely communications to the field and clients. Accurately completes various processing activities, provide high level technical expertise/guidance, and swings between teams as volumes warrant.
  • Problem solves a variety of issues as encountered within the team with minimal direction. Performs quality control and review.
  • Assess inefficiencies and offer solutions that maximize the scale of our operations

  • Required Job Qualifications

  • Process improvement mindset and ability. Demonstrated ability to improve processes. Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • Passion for and experience with various operational components of a Registered Investment Advisor.
  • Working knowledge of industry leading third-party technologies (Black Diamond, Orion) preferred.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the field force and internal departments to achieve common goals
  • Proven ability to support advisor growth in a way that aligns with regulatory compliance standards and company policies.
  • Experience onboarding external practices to a non-Thrivent Registered Investment Advisor is preferred.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 65 or 66 preferred.
  • 5-10 years of financial services experience.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
