This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:30am – 5pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 170 Wood Ave FL 3, Iselin, NJ, 08830.

If you are located in the state of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware or New York, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* (work from home) as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers

    Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send correspondence), Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send spreadsheets) and Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to open, edit, save and send presentations)
  • Must be able to come into the Iselin, NJ location at 170 Woods Ave, Iselin, NJ 08830 one day a week and/or as needed for meetings.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • A clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Telecommute Requirements:

  • Must reside in the state of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware or New York
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
