Finance Manager, Systems - Remote

Are you an experienced accounting systems SME within transaction processing, financial reporting, and consolidation? Are you passionate about driving automation?As our Accounting Systems Manager you will report to the US Accounting Manager to analyze and evaluate current state accounting systems and processes as well as define future state business processes based on business objectives and system functionality, while maintaining proper internal controls for Babylon’s US subsidiaries. Areas of key focus include strengthening IT controls, driving automation, and making financial processes more efficient. This role is at the heart of the business ensuring the integrity of financial and management information is maintained, and senior management have accurate and timely information to make the right decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

  • Provide system support for the US Accounting and Finance team and collaborate with UK Accounting Systems Manager
  • Manage, maintain, and support all third party applications that impact the US financial reporting processes (e.g., NetSuite, iValua, etc.) which will include day to day operational accountability for the support and development of the roadmap to improve functionality, accountable for testing, analyzing, and explaining system upgrades and implementations
  • Create and maintain financial reports, subledger reports and ensure modules are functioning properly
  • Develop a training program to ensure efficient and consistent use of the accounting system
  • Develop a plan to integrate acquisitions into the accounting systems and other related system platforms
  • Configure applications according to requirements and design and conduct required testing
  • Build a detailed knowledge of accounting systems capability to provide recommendations on how they can add value (particularly around automation initiatives)
  • Review processes, identify short term tactical improvements, implement them successfully and then monitor and embed a continuous improvement approach across all transactional processes
  • Implement and take responsibility of key ITGC, automated SOX controls and related key reports relating to financial systems
  • Managing the plan for all major change projects, system upgrades and improvement initiatives as they relate to accounting and related systems
  • Working closely with UK Accounting Systems Manager to improve user provisioning and security
  • Manage US team end user training and support, role development and tracking
  • WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA or BS in Accounting or Information Systems
  • Knowledge of NetSuite (Knowledge of Ivalua P2P is not essential for this role)
  • 5-6+ years of industry experience in similar roles preferred
  • Prior experience supporting finance function & ability to “speak” cross-functionally
  • Possess a detailed understanding of transaction processing, financial reporting, and consolidation
  • Experience in tech startup/high growth environments preferred
  • Enthusiasm for improving processes and continuously reviewing process adequacy as the business scales 
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-Starter who is results driven
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong effective communicator
  • Ability to turn high ambiguity into actionable insights
