Requisition ID : 6971 Employment Type : Full Time Job Category : Category Management Work Location : Davidson, NC (CSC) State or Province : North Carolina (US-NC) Potential Work Location : United States : North Carolina : Davidson*REMOTE OPPORTUNITY* BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Data Specialist II position is responsible for all data requirements related to MSC's product offerings, from induction of new items to on-going maintenance of data and images. Position owns supplier relationships from a data perspective, operates cross-functionally with internal customers and is involved in process improvement opportunities. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages supplier product data relationships as approximately 50% of daily duties. Develops subject matter expertise in a minimum of ten (10) product categories. Leads training of lower level Product Information Specialists. Owns all activities related to New Item Induction (NII), SKU Development and all maintenance aspects of product information. Owns supplier relationships for product information purposes, including accuracy of data and formatting, image induction, SKU Development, New Item Induction (NII), and all aspects of product information maintenance. Educates suppliers on MSC's requirements for entry of new items into or system, including image accuracy and proper image formats. Initiates and leads product information processes for a broad set of internal customers - Product Management, Merchandise Management, Marketing, and Imaging to facilitate growth of the business, ensure accuracy of product data, and enable meeting project deadlines. Originates and maintains detailed product information for the full life-cycle of products. Is accountable for product information to ensure the highest degree of data quality. Researches and analyzes multiple sources in order to determine correct operational data values and attributes. Participates in process improvement initiatives. Generates and analyzes reports including but not limited to: fill rate. Develops feedback to improve internal processes, cross-functional processes, and system performance. Operates the Product Information Management (PIM) database management system, AS400 product database, and various other product information spreadsheets and databases. Ensures data synchronization across multiple systems and platforms. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose. Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field or the equivalent work experience required. Minimum two years business experience required. SKILLS: Excellent analytical skills and spreadsheet skills required. Excellent database skills required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required. Excellent time management skills required. Work prioritization and multi-tasking skills required. Relationship management skills required. Collaboration skills in a team environment required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver's license is required. Compensation starting at $41,825.00 and up commensurate with experience.
