Those who work at our corporate headquarters in Northeast Ohio also enjoy a casual dress code, an on-site market caf, and an upbeat working environment!Position Overview:As the Jumbo Team Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the underwriting staff in their day to day requirements while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring service level agreements are being maintained. The JumboTeam Lead provides solutions to loan level escalations as requested by the underwriting staff and/or sales staff/branch. In addition, the Jumbo Team Lead is required to complete 2nd level reviews on 100% of loan files for the team of underwriters. Further responsibilities include reviewing investor suspense items and managing the suspense pipeline to ensure all loans are purchased in a timely manner.Job Responsibilities:Work with underwriting team to maintain standard service level agreementsMonitor underwriter pipelines to ensure productivityProvide mentoring and coaching to underwriting staff as required by managementMaintain current and fluid knowledge of investor and agency guidelinesUtilize problem solving, judgement, knowledge and experience to effectively remedy loan level issuesResolve underwriter escalations and escalate to management when necessaryMaintain an underwriting pipeline of new loans and resubmissions that meets standard service level agreementsPerform second level reviews for all non-agency loansPerform a designated number of weekly spot checks as determined by management to evaluate and examine loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with investor and agency guidelinesSupport Underwriters to identify potential solutions/alternatives for difficult/denied loansEvaluate credit reports, income documentation, assets, liabilities, property appraisals, title reports & property insurance (Haz & Flood) to ensure loans meet company standards and investor requirementsAssist in correction of Delivery Violations and/or Investor suspense items on specific files as requiredCommunicates effectively and engages proactively with loan originators, processors, branch managers, funders and post-closers regarding loan decisions, assignment of loan conditions, investor guidelines/documentation requirements and possible loan scenariosPerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications and Skills:Extensive Understanding of Jumbo/Non-Agency and conventional loan guidelinesBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of recent Mortgage Underwriting Experience with strong with 3+ years of recent Jumbo and Non-QM products ExperienceExperience with investors including Chase, Wells Fargo and Redwood Trust would be preferredStrong working knowledge of ATR/QM & HPML requirementsAbility to work in a fast paced, fluid environment and be held to minimum production standardStrong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookEncompass LOS experience a plusKnowledge of compliance and disclosure requirementsCrossCountry Mortgage, LLC offers MORE than a job, we offer a career.
