As a Director Business Process Transformation, you will be responsible for developing and leading the business transformation strategies necessary to support the national revenue cycle operations for the nation's premier diagnostic lab company. This is a key leadership role that will set the vision for the business transformation approach and then coordinate across multiple teams as we continue to transform our revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing and deploying highly innovative solutions within the healthcare ecosystem, experience working within a highly complex, multi-state revenue cycle operation and experience leading local and remote technical teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create a long-term strategic plan that supports the desire to increase business automation and drive performance efficiency through the introduction of innovative solutions.
  • Develop an annual roadmap of transformation opportunities, in conjunction with operational leaders, that is designed to deliver cost and productivity improvements to the business.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new capabilities to the business and support the development of any business cases and/or ROI calculations.
  • Lead multiple high performing teams responsible for executing an evolving portfolio of opportunities in support of the strategic plan.
  • Achieve assigned financial goals through delivery excellence and partnering with our automation team.
  • Evaluate system capabilities and assist in identifying opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Bring industry leading practice concepts to the business and serve as a subject matter resource on an upcoming revenue cycle system replacement project.
  • Execute components of special projects as assigned; may be responsible for coordinating activities with others in the department across the Optum portfolio.
  • Oversee project management resources responsible for maintaining the portfolio of department projects and initiatives.
  • Develop analytical reporting to establish clear baseline measures as well as metrics to validate results and effectiveness of newly designed or redesigned workstreams/processes/technologies.
  • Produce concise, timely and verified reporting's of departmental activities and/or variances from expected results.
  • Schedule and monitor department staffing levels to ensure efficient operations and appropriate employee utilization.
  • Responsible for the development of annual department budgets and staffing plans.
  • Provide regular feedback to executives across the organization on project status, barriers to completion and benefits achieved.
  • Comply with and adhere to all regulatory compliance areas, policies, and procedures (including HIPAA and PCI compliance requirements).
  • Interact regularly with administrative, financial, and operational leaders within the client organization to report progress of transformation initiatives and value created.
  • Work closely with team members on mentoring opportunities, expanding knowledge of relevant tools and methodologies promoting innovation, and enhancing project management and leadership skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Quantitative Business Analysis, Information Management, Health Services Administration, or a related field or relevant work history

Minimun 7 years' experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of healthcare financial operations
  • Experience with high volume Healthcare revenue cycle operations OR Healthcare consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering high value transformation projects in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a diverse portfolio of projects
  • Experience with analytical skills to assemble data that is responsive to the user's needs.
  • Ability to present complex information, using graphic representations.
  • Demonstarated executive communication skills, professional narrative, and business writing skills.
  • Experience leading a remote workforc
  • Experience presenting to a team of executive leaders
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior revenue cycle consulting experience
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle applications
  • Familiarity with automation and a demonstrated understanding of how robotics can support business operations
  • Excellent organizational skills to assist in completing special projects and documenting working papers
