The Solutions Architect (SA) is a pivotal role within the Commvault Professional Services organization. Responsible at a regional level for the development and growth of the professional services business resulting in the ‘pull through’ of Commvault data management technology. The SA will have direct responsibility for driving customer and partner engagement and internal business development of Commvault solutions offerings that result in revenue for Professional and Consulting Services.

The SA should understand the value of the service offerings within the Commvault Professional Services portfolio as well as Commvault products and their integration across heterogeneous storage & application platforms.

The SA acts either in conjunction with the product sales team and pre-sales consulting teams or, where appropriate, independently to ensure the necessary and appropriate professional services are sold and correctly delivered to Commvault customers. Ensuring that customer satisfaction is maximized and Commvault is able to maintain and grow its technology install base and client reference ability within large and enterprise accounts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Close liaison and inter-working with Commvault Sales & Pre-Sales teams. Facilitate and where required, lead the sale and delivery of compelling Commvault based data management solutions and service offerings, to customers and Partners.
  • Support the regional Sales organization in meeting and exceeding targets for Commvault license and professional services revenues.
  • Develop & grow the revenues and profitability of the regional professional services team, in line with the regional business plan for professional services.
  • Production & issue of key PS commercial & delivery artefacts, such as proposals, quotations & statements of work.
  • Educate & inform Sales & Pre-Sales functions with the necessary material and detail on Commvault service offerings and other material available to maximize technology & services revenues and increase customer value from deployed solutions.
  • Delivery of enablement plans and training for selected key partners.
  • Work closely with Theatre PS management to maintain adequate supply of skilled delivery resources from within Commvault permanent staff and local resource Partners.
  • In addition to these outwardly facing elements of the role, the SA will be expected to provide the following services internally.

  • Provide input to sales proposals on delivery & risk management aspects, ensuring that proposed solutions, approaches and delivery plans/requirements are viable and can be delivered to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Assist in assessing the delivery risks and dependencies of proposed solutions, developing & executing pragmatic approaches to eliminating or containing these risks.
  • Position Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or other complimentary field of study
  • 3+ years of consulting experience in the data protection or information management solutions.
  • 5+ years of proven track record of promoting and selling Professional/Consulting Services for data protection or information management solutions.
  • Networking fundamentals (topologies, firewalls, etc.)
  • Proficiency with SAN/NAS storage hardware (Pure, Dell/EMC, HDS, NetApp, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Proficiency with various server platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.), Hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack), and containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker)
  • Proficiency with backup and recovery requirements of on-premise applications such as Exchange, SharePoint, MSSQL, and Oracle as well as cloud platforms such as O365, Salesforce, and OneDrive/Google Drive.
